March Hare

#2 Pencil, on 14" x 17" paper.

Inspire by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.

There are 12 time pieces in the image, two of them are ancient; one is an hour glass filled with sand, the other is Stonehenge which is an astronomical time piece measuring lunar and solar movements. The remaining 10 time pieces are numerically backwards and set at 3:14(pi=3.14). Starting in the upper left corner.
1) A watch hanging from a tree limb next to the hour glass.
2) The hour glass suspended from the tree limb.
3) Beneath the hare’s right ear in the waterfall.
4) Beneath the hare’s right ear, the underside of the mushroom with a smiling face.
5) The lower left corner the mushroom top.
6) On the hare’s left wrist is a horizontal sundial.
7) To the left of the hare’s collar is a horizontal sundial.
8) Above the sundial is a Salvador Dali type clock draped over a tree limb.
9) Behind the back of the hare’s head is a time piece with wings (watching time fly).
10) Beneath the winged time piece is a partial view of Stonehenge.
11) The upper right corner, the pocket watch with the images of Harvey the Pooka & James Stewart.
12) The wood frame is a vertical sundial.

If each clock is a face then there are 16 faces (not including the top of the head on the Pooka watch).
