The Banshee is a fairy woman from Ireland and the West Highlands of Scotland. The banshee can appear in a variety of guises. Most often she appears as an ugly, frightening hag, but she can also appear as a stunningly beautiful woman of any age that suits her. Her keening is said to be her lamenting the death of important personages, the appearance of the banshee could also foretell an impending departure from this world. Banshees were said to appear for particular Irish clans, though which groups made it onto this roll varied depending on who was telling the story. Tales of banshees are prevalent in ancient Irish lore as well as in the oral traditions of West Highlands of Scotland to this day.

A Frank Toner (Tower) from County Dublin, Ireland, survived the sinking of the Titanic in (1912), the sinking of the Empress of Ireland (1914) the sinking of the Lusitania, (1915). Nick named “Lucky Tower” his remains are interred here where a Banshee awaits all those, whose luck has run out.
